Dallewal drinks water, says stir will continue

In a significant development, the Supreme Court on Friday acknowledged Jagjit Singh Dallewal as a "genuine farmer leader without any political agenda".
Eight days after stopping water intake, fasting farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal took water at a private hospital in Patiala, where he has been admitted. This came after the release of all detained farmer leaders and activists from various jails across Punjab.
However, in a statement the farmer leaders made it clear that the agitation for pending demands including guaranteed MSP to continue. The development came after retired ADGP Jaskaran Singh, retired DIG Narinder Bhargav, and retired DSP Gurjit Singh Romana—acting as emissaries of the Punjab government—persuaded Dallewal to drink water.
