Congress weighs acting president role as Kharge's health sparks worries

According to the party constitution, he still has two more years remaining in his term. However, following recent health concerns, murmurs have begun circulating within the party.

Indications suggest that Kharge will continue as president, but there is talk of appointing someone else as acting president or vice president to share responsibilities. Since his health has deteriorated, doubts remain about whether the 83-year-old leader can maintain the same level of activity as before.

Elections are scheduled in several states following Bihar, and the role of the party president is crucial. It is currently uncertain whether Kharge will be able to actively campaign during the Bihar elections. In response, the Congress high command has moved senior leader and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to take on additional responsibility in the state.
