Centre Appoints Haryana's BS Nara as BBMB Member Amid Water Row

Amid the ongoing water-sharing conflict between Haryana and Punjab, the Central Government has appointed BS Nara, Chief Engineer in Haryana's Irrigation and Water Resources Department, as Member (Irrigation) of the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB).
His appointment will be effective for six months, starting immediately. The decision, cleared by the appointments committee of the Cabinet, was announced through an order issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
The Ministry of Power, headed by Union Minister Manohar Lal, had recommended Nara's name for the post.
