AAIB to investigate Baramati plane crash

A specialised team from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has been tasked with conducting an in-depth probe into the charter aircraft crash in Baramati that killed five people, including Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
Official sources said the AAIB team will recover and examine key aircraft systems, including the Flight Data Recorder, the Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) and the Digital Engine Electronic System (DEES). Investigators will also obtain the aircraft's airframe and engine logbooks, work orders, onboard documents and records of major inspections from the operator for detailed scrutiny.
The probe team has additionally sought documents from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) relating to the aircraft and the crew.
As part of the investigation, radar data, CCTV footage, Air Traffic Control (ATC) recordings and hotline communications will be analysed, while statements from eyewitnesses and relevant personnel will be recorded.
