ACTIVISTS from Greenpeace UK have painted a mural outside the embassy of the Republic of Korea in London to show their support for a fellow activist from St Ives and four others who have been trapped in South Korea since November.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, April 15, a team of 20 activists created the artwork in solidarity with Al Wilson who, along with four Greenpeace climbers and a captain of the environmental charity's ship Rainbow Warrior, have been banned from leaving South Korea for more than four months while they await trial on charges arising from a protest against plastic pollution. Their hearing is on May 16.

Imogen Michel, one of the Greenpeace UK climb team painting the mural, said: "I know two of the climbers banned from leaving Korea personally, and we really want all of them, and Captain Hettie Geenen, to know that we're thinking of them.
