Campaign by MP to reopen town's driving test centre

THE MP for West Cornwall has stepped up his campaign to reopen the driving test centre in Penzance.
Liberal Democrat MP Andrew George is calling for the centre to reopen as soon as possible, and for capacity investment to meet local demand for services, following news of its temporary closure on health and safety grounds.
The Penzance driving test centre (DTC) was closed last month by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) for “essential maintenance”.
During the closure, driving tests which would have been taken in Penzance have been moved to Camborne, leading to rearranged test dates, hiked costs and journeys of over an hour for some West Cornwall residents.
