Super-violent but addictive

Banshee is not your average skop, skiet and donner series. It's certainly not an average show on any count, and even though the four-season stream was made just over a decade ago, its binge-watching at its best. But be warned, there's a lot of violence and an equal measure of nudity and sex in every episode. Not for kids, at all.

Come to think of it, Banshee is what Steven Segal and Jean Claude van Damme movies could have been. Loads of punch-ups, stabbings and shootings but, where the kung-fu pair's films lacked a strong narrative, this series has it all. Fantastic performances, intrigue, plots and subplots with a strong arm of character development.

Banshee takes viewers to the Pennsylvania Amish country, where secrets, lies and raw violence are as everyday as evening prayers.
