Rassie: Siya to keep the reins

Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus has backed Siya Kolisi (above) to continue leading the team for the foreseeable future and believes there is no reason why he won't be in the mix come the 2027 World Cup in Australia.

Erasmus was talking at a Bok press conference in Cape Town on Wednesday, and admitted that although they have a number of ageing players in the group, they would continue to pick them as long as they stayed fit and in form.

Stormers loose forward Deon Fourie, at 38, is the oldest member of the extended Bok group, and the fact that he was picked to attend the alignment camp in Cape Town next week, suggests that he is in line to add to his 13 Bok caps, the last of which came in the 2023 World Cup final.
