Opportunity to watch again great movies celebrating milestones

They have certainly stood the test of time and are therefore all worthy of another viewing.

And, with tickets at the classic price of just R50, what's not to enjoy?

The titles for the Throwback Cinema include: Shrek starting today and celebration of the 15th anniversary of The Social Network from next Friday.

Set for release on 18 April is the 20th anniversary of the animation classic Madagascar and the 30th anniversary of Jumanji releases from 25 April.

"Our Throwback Cinema titles are proving to be a very popular option to watch some classics on the big screen again. The April line-up includes some really special films featuring some big stars, to enjoy either as repeat viewing or for a first-time cinema experience," says Lynne Wylie, chief marketing officer at Ster-Kinekor Theatres.

First up today is the animation film, Shrek, first released in 2001.

A mean lord exiles fairytale creatures to the swamp of a grumpy ogre, who must go on a quest to rescue a princess for the lord in order to get his land back.
