Murder suspect cuffed

Awaiting extradition to New York to face murder charges.

A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder on Monday in the targeted killing of health insurance executive Brian Thompson in New York, along with other violations.
Luigi Mangione was charged on suspicion of one count of murder, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, one count of second-degree possession of a forged document and one count of third-degree possession of a weapon.
Investigators continued to interrogate Mangione in connection with last week's brazen murder, which triggered a nationwide manhunt and global headlines.
He was led into court by Altoona police flanked by New York City Police Department detectives where he was arraigned.
Mangione is next due to appear in court on 23 December.
Pennsylvania governor Josh Shapiro said murder charges in New York state would follow, adding, "we do not kill people in cold blood to resolve policy differences or express a viewpoint".
