Journalism is a strange thing

It's the compulsive desire to say something, to create words and tell stories, to share with people the weird, wonderful, shocking and surprising.

It can be a curse or a blessing for the writer, because almost every aspect of every day is examined, analysed and sometimes spawns a story or a narrative that earworms you until you do something about it.

The media sets the agenda. Because journalists dig, expose, introduce, uncover and discover.

Everything is a story, everything is somehow gift wrapped and parcelled up for the unwrapping and unpeeling, like an onion.

It's irresistible. For some writers it's also the only way that expression allows freedom, absolute free reign on a keyboard, until editors rein you in.
