Fihla says 'bye Standard, hello Absa'

Absa Group hired Kenny Fihla, deputy CEO of Standard Bank Group, as its next head.
Fihla will start as the lender's CEO on 17 June, according to a statement. Fihla, who's been at the continent's biggest lender by assets for the past 18 years, tendered his resignation on Sunday. He is to proceed on leave from yesterday, Standard Bank said in a filing.
"Kenny is a recognised leader with substantial Pan-African banking experience and a proven track record. He has almost 20 years of experience in leadership roles in banking," says Absa Board Chairman, Sello Moloko.
