The Citizen
|May 07, 2025
Former Crime Intelligence boss Richard Mdluli and his co-accused, who are charged with looting the police's slush fund, have pleaded not guilty at the start of their corruption trial.
The opening of the trial has been repeatedly postponed due to numerous setbacks.
Mdluli and his co-accused, former South African Police Service (Saps) supply chain manager Heine Barnard and former chief financial officer of the State Security Agency Solomon Lazarus, appeared in the High Court in Pretoria on Monday.
The trial started with the state's first witness, Colonel Kobus Roelofese, taking the stand.
