Thug who strangled partner for no apparent reason is jailed

A THUG who strangled his partner to the point she felt she was losing consciousness has been jailed.
A court heard it was a “complete mystery” as to why Jak Hurley turned on the woman after she woke up at his flat.
As Hurley, 30, who has a previous conviction for animal cruelty, was locked up at Newcastle Crown Court, a judge said he poses a danger to the public, particularly any future partners.
The court heard the victim had known Hurley since their school days and they had previously been in a relationship which ended around a decade ago. They got back together last year but problems soon developed between them.
