EDDIE HOWE AND DAN BURN GIVEN HONORARY DEGREES
given honorary degrees from Northumbria University
EDDIE Howe and Dan Burn have been honoured by Northumbria University for their contributions on and off the pitch. No Newcastle fan will need reminding that Burn scored one of the goals which delivered the Magpies' first domestic trophy in 70 years back in March.
Howe and Burn have received the degree of Doctor of Civil Law in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the club and the wider community.
The duo were due to receive their degrees alongside students from the University's Faculty of Health and Wellbeing yesterday, but university chancellor George Clarke presented the honours at a special ceremony at St James' Park so as not to disturb preparations for last night's clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
