Teen avoids jail after claiming 'forgotten' knife was used to hunt rats

A TEENAGER caught carrying a knife claimed he had it for hunting rats.

Taylor Mason was found to be carrying the folding blade, which was longer than three inches, when police pulled over a car in Newcastle city centre. A court heard the 19-year-old was also in possession of cannabis.
