Son savagely attacked his dad when told to keep noise down

BOTH HAD BEEN OUT DRINKING AND WATCHING FOOTBALL BEFORE ATTACK

A DAD was savagely attacked by his own son after asking him to keep the noise down as he tried to sleep.
James Davey had been out with his father to watch a football match and they had both consumed alcohol.
When they got home, the older man said he was going to bed as he was tired.
But he was disturbed by 49-year-old grandfather Davey having a loud conversation on the phone and requested that he keep it down.
This sparked a prolonged attack in which he was repeatedly punched and kicked.
Now Davey, of Killingworth, North Tyneside, who had been given a community order a day earlier for violence, has walked free from court despite jurors convicting him of inflicting grievous bodily harm on his dad.
Newcastle Crown Court heard it was on November 11 2023 that Davey, who had been living with his dad for a few weeks, went with him to a neighbour’s home to watch a football match and they had some drinks.
After the match, they returned home and the dad said he was going to bed.
