Police appeal after rape reported

POLICE have issued an appeal for witnesses after reports of a rape in Northumberland.

A woman reported that she had been raped by a man who she did not know whilst she was walking along Horton Road, the A193, towards Bedlington.

The offence is reported to have taken place between 11.25pm and midnight on Saturday next to Attlee Park.

An investigation has been launched and the victim is being supported by specially trained officers.
