It's pain in the rain as Red Bulls are beaten
The Chronicle
|November 24, 2025
NEWCASTLE Red Bulls endured a rain-soaked defeat in north London on Saturday as Saracens took all five PREM Rugby Cup points.
-
The visitors trailed 19-0 at halftime having repelled the early Sarries threat, holding up a rolling maul in the right corner and using the boots of James Elliott and Boeta Chamberlain to get themselves downfield.
The latter hit a booming 50-22 as the Red Bulls grew into the game, with Reuben Parsons and Stefan Coetzee among their willing carriers as they enjoyed a modicum of early territory and field position.
Newcastle's defensive steel was once again called upon to hold up a Saracens attack over the try-line around the quarter mark, but the home side broke the deadlock on 22 minutes when winger Brandon Jackson sped into the left corner for an unconverted try.
The Londoners added a second on 28 minutes when a ruck in front of the posts saw play swing out to the right-hand side, where fullback Luke Davidson dotted down.
