Further suspended sentence for already banned drug-driver

A BANNED teenage driver was caught when he went back behind the wheel on a busy North East road while high on drugs.
Mohammed Ali at Newcastle Magistrates' Court
Mohammed Ali, who was given a suspended sentence last month for having a cache of weapons hidden in a shoebox inside his home, had his licence taken off him in March 2025 after he was convicted of dangerous driving.
But the 18-year-old seemingly showed his contempt for the court after he was seen behind the wheel of an Audi A4 on the A1 in Gateshead in the early hours of the morning.
Ali was pulled over and appeared to be under the influence of drink or drugs, with the latter later proving to be the case as he was found to be over the limit for THC, a breakdown product of cannabis.
