A few new AI features are coming to iOS across the system, with the most useful-looking being on-the-fly live translation between languages in apps like Messages and Phone. “Visual Intelligence” is also being extended to being able to search and act on anything on the iPhone's screen.

The Phone app is getting very useful anti-nuisance features which will see it screen calls for users... so the scammers can’t get through.

The phone will ask unknown callers who they are and why they are calling before asking you if you want to take the call.

Messages

Messages also gets a screening feature in iOS 26. It gets a bit of a visual spruce-up too, with the option to add a custom background.
