'Danger to women' is locked up for 16 years

Lee Bailey, of Alvanley Road, Great Sutton, raped two women and has been jailed for 16 years

Lee Bailey, of Alvanley Road, Great Sutton, was handed the sentence at Chester Crown Court.

The 33-year-old had been found guilty of rape, attempted rape and assault occasioning actual bodily harm against one victim. He was also convicted of rape and controlling and coercive behaviour against another victim.

In February 2021, a woman made a report of harassment against Bailey, which resulted in him being made subject to a Non-Molestation Order.

At the time, she also made a disclosure of rape but did not feel able to pursue a formal complaint at the time.

In August 2022, a second woman told police Bailey had raped and assaulted her. She stated Bailey had raped her when she could not consent after drinking alcohol on a night out and had stamped on her head.
