PDP Scrambles to Stop Three Senators from Defecting to APC
The Business NG
|The BusinessNG
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State is in crisis mode as it scrambles to prevent the imminent defection of three serving senators to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
-
Barring a last-minute change, Senators Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Yahaya Abubakar Abdullahi (Kebbi North), and Garba Maidoki (Kebbi South) are set to officially join the APC on Tuesday, following a high-level meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Sources confirmed that the lawmakers were accompanied to the meeting by APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, and are expected to defect with a sizable entourage of supporters, including both serving and former PDP executives from all three senatorial zones in Kebbi State.
The development has thrown the PDP's state chapter into disarray.
