In a groundbreaking move announced during the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28), the World Bank has unveiled its far-reaching Climate and Health Program. This initiative aims to confront the mounting health risks exacerbated by climate change, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. With projections indicating a potential surge of at least 21 million additional deaths by 2050 due to climate-related health hazards, the program is designed to strengthen health systems, focusing on vulnerable regions in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
