TATA AND PARTNERS DRIVE INDIA'S GREEN TRANSPORT REVOLUTION

Sustainable transportation is striking deep roots in India's automobile industry with companies making foray in the hydrogen fuel bus segment, entering into extensive partnerships for electrifying public transportation through infrastructure creation or selling EV drive units for two-wheeled vehicles in India.

In a recent collaboration, Shuzlan Energy and Transvolt Mobility have signed an extensive agreement towards electrifying public transportation with the signing of an agreement to provide India's largest EV charging point operator (CPO) infrastructure for 1,000 e-buses. Under the agreement, Shuzlan Energy becomes a preferred charging point operator by deploying multiple hubs at 350 charging stations across India. The introduction of best-in-class charging management system (CMS) technology from Shuzlan is designed to meet the growing demand for sustainable transportation options, making EV adoption more accessible and convenient.

The first charging hub will be established at the Mira Bhayander Depot of the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Transport (MBMT). This hub is projected to be the region's lifeline for powering 57 public transport ebuses, ushering in a new era of efficient and clean public transport. The multiple depots to be be set up will operate on a fixed income model within a year.
