Supreme Court: Karnataka's Plea For Drought Relief: AG & SG Agree To Get Instructions From Union Govt

The Supreme Court in the case State Of Karnataka Versus Union of India And Ors. observed wherein the writ petition is filed by the Karnataka government alleging that the Centre was denying it financial assistance for drought management, the Attorney General and the Solicitor General told the Supreme Court that they would get instructions from the Union Government.

The bench comprising of Justice BR Gavai and Justice Sandeep Mehta in the case observed that though initially inclined to issue formal notice to the Union, gave time to obtain instructions and make a statement, on a request made by Attorney General R Venkataramani and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who appeared in advance notice.
