SC Relaxes Bail Condition That Journalist Siddique Kappan Should Report At UP Police Station Every Week

The Supreme Court in the case Sidhique Kappan versus State Of Uttar Pradesh observed and has relaxed the bail condition that Kerala journalist Siddique Kappan should record his presence at the police station in Uttar Pradesh every Monday in connection with the alleged Hathras conspiracy case.

The bench comprising of Justice P.S. Narasimha and Justice Sandeep Mehta was hearing the present matter. The bench in the case observed and has allowed the application filed by Kappan seeking relaxation of the bail condition.
The bench in its order stated that the order dated September 09, 2022 is being modified and it shall not be necessary for the petitioner to report to the local police station. Thus, the other prayers made in the present application can be independently agitated.
