Saturday session tests disaster recovery for stocks

In a bid to assess their readiness to manage potential disruptions, leading stock exchanges BSE and NSE have announced a special trading session in the equity and equity derivative segment on Saturday.

The session aims to facilitate a live switchover from the Primary Site (PR) to the Disaster Recovery (DR) site. The session will be divided into two parts, with the first session scheduled from 9:15 am to 10:00 am at the PR site, followed by the second session from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at the DR site.
During this special session, all securities, including those with derivative products, will operate under a maximum price band of 5 percent. Additionally, securities already subject to a 2 percent or lower price band will maintain their respective bands. The announcement was made through separate circulars issued by both BSE and NSE.
