Samsung expects Galaxy Z Fold 5 & Flip 5 success

Samsung, the Korean smart devices major, has expressed confidence that its newly launched foldable smartphone models, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, will consolidate its leadership position in the market.

According to market research firm estimates, foldable handsets are expected to contribute over 1.8 per cent of the total smartphone revenues for 2023 in India, which translates to over 6.35 lakh foldable smartphones being sold during the year. While this may account for less than 0.5 per cent of the total sales by volume, the fifth-generation fold and flip models are considered more refined and durable, potentially appealing to a wider consumer base.
