Parliament staff to get new dress code

As the eagerly anticipated special session of Parliament approaches, staff members are gearing up for a change in their work attire when they make their transition to the new Parliament building. This shift is scheduled to coincide with the beginning of the five-day special session, set to commence next week. On September 19, a formal entry into the new Parliament building will be marked with a special ceremony on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, following a traditional 'pooja.'

The distinctive uniforms for Parliament staff have been meticulously designed by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). These new uniforms will see staff members donning Nehru jackets and khaki-coloured pants, ushering in a fresh and contemporary look for the parliamentary workforce.

The magenta or deep pink Nehru jacket will replace the conventional bandh gala suits previously worn by bureaucrats. Accompanying the jackets, the staff's shirts will feature a deep pink hue with an intricate lotus flower design, symbolizing purity and grace.
