India's reserves dip $2.8 billion

India’s foreign exchange reserves experienced a decline of USD 2.795 billion, reaching USD 616.143 billion in the week ending January 19, 2023, as per the latest data from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

The dip in foreign exchange reserves primarily resulted from a decrease of USD 2.653 billion in foreign currency assets (FCA), the largest component of the reserves, which stood at USD 545.855 billion during the week. Additionally, gold reserves witnessed a marginal decline of USD 34 million, settling at USD 47.212 billion.
