A high alert has been sounded across Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Independence Day celebrations, with security forces stepping up checking, patrolling, and area domination across both the Jammu and Kashmir divisions, officials said on Thursday.

A multi-tier security grid of the Army, BSF, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police has been placed on maximum vigilance along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) to foil any infiltration or terror attempts. Border outposts have been strengthened with additional personnel and advanced surveillance equipment.
