HDFC stumbles, drags market down with Rs 1.16 trillion erosion

Last week witnessed a collective dip of Rs 1.16 lakh crore in the market valuation of seven out of the top10 most-valued companies, with HDFC Bank experiencing the most significant decline. During the holidayshortened week, the BSE benchmark dropped by 982.56 points or 1.37 percent.

Among the top-10 firms, Reliance Industries, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), HDFC Bank, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Hindustan Unilever, ITC, and State Bank of India faced losses, while ICICI Bank, Infosys, and Bharti Airtel emerged as gainers.
