Amidst the water scarcity in the national capital, the Delhi government has approached the Supreme Court seeking immediate additional water from neighbouring Haryana. The government stated that it was compelled to file the petition due to the acute water shortage exacerbated by severe heat conditions in North India, particularly in Delhi. The plea requests the respondent no. 1 (Haryana) for prompt and continuous release of water at the Wazirabad barrage.
