The Delhi airport is set to leverage predictive analytics powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and camera-based solutions to enhance operational efficiency amid a surge in passenger traffic, according to a top official. The airport, the largest in the country, manages approximately 1,300-1,500 flights daily and anticipates handling over 70 million passengers in the current fiscal year ending March 2024.

Delhi Airport to use AI and cameras-based solutions to improve operations

Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO of Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), stated in an interview with PTI that the airport is actively exploring digital solutions, including those based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and AI, with a focus on predictive analytics to optimize operations.

DIAL, a consortium led by the GMR Group, operates the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in New Delhi. In response to last year’s congestion issues during the winter season, measures such as increasing entry points were swiftly implemented within 15 days to alleviate the situation.
