|June 23, 2024
Delhi's Patiala House Court on Saturday directed the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to respond by July 1 to an application filed by newly elected MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid, also known as Engineer Rashid.
-
He was arrested in a 2017 Jammu and Kashmir terror funding case and is seeking interim bail to take the oath as a Member of Parliament (MP).
Engineer Rashid defeated former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Baramulla seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Additional Sessions Judge Kiran Gupta has scheduled the matter for a hearing on July 1 and instructed the NIA to file its reply by that date.
