Factional Rift Delays Lop Appointment

Congress Stalwarts Are Queuing Up For Post Of Leader Of Opposition

Despite the passing of several months of assembly elections for the third time in a row, the principal opposition Congress, known as a divided house in the state, has neither been able to appoint a leader of opposition in the state nor come up with an organisational set-up.

Due to factionalism in the Hooda and Kumari Selja camps, the party high command failed to strike a balance in terms of appointing the leader of opposition.

The ruling party, BJP, is taking a dig at Congress, citing an ongoing rift among Congress leaders inside and outside the assembly for not appointing a leader of opposition.

However, Congress heavyweights keep denying the prevailing rift among them, but the situation on the ground remains unchanged.

Apart from this, it seems not less than an uphill task for the party to form an organisational setup in the state, which is believed to be one of the main reasons for the party's fiasco in the assembly elections.
