Army Creates First-Ever Skin Bank For Soldiers In India

The Army Hospital (Research and Referral) in New Delhi unveiled a pioneering initiative on Tuesday with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art skin bank facility, marking a significant milestone within the Armed Forces Medical Services.

This establishment, the first of its kind under military auspices, aims to revolutionize the treatment of severe burn injuries and other complex skin-related conditions affecting service members and their families across India.
Led by Lt Gen Arindam Chatterjee AVSM, VSM, DGMS (Army) & Col Comdt, the opening of the skin bank underscores the Armed Forces' steadfast commitment to enhancing the health and well-being of its personnel. Lt Gen Chatterjee expressed that this facility signifies not only an advancement in medical care but also a profound dedication to supporting those who have made sacrifices for the nation.
