Allahabad High Court: Relationship between 'Jija' and 'Sali' is immoral but rape offence not attracted if woman is a major

The Allahabad High Court in the case observed that a relationship between brother-in-law and sister-in-law (jija and sali) is immoral.

The court stated that if a woman is a major, the said relationship does not attract the offence of rape.
The bench headed by Justice Sameer Jain in the case observed and has granted bail to an accused i.e., Jija who was booked under section 366, section 376, section 506 of the Indian Penal Code, IPC on the allegation that he enticed away his sister-in-law i.e., the wife's sister or saali under the false promise to perform marriage with her.
The counsel appearing for him argued before the single judge that his client had been falsely accused in the present matter.
