Veloso advised to personally seek clemency from Marcos

Mary Jane Veloso, the Filipina convicted abroad for drug trafficking, must personally convey her plea for freedom to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. instead of posting an open letter online, Malacanang said on Monday, Feb. 9.
Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro deemed it preferable for Veloso to write to President Marcos over her bid for freedom.
