Eala, Swiss partner crash out

Alex Eala crashed out early as she and Swiss partner Rebeka Masarova dropped their opening round match in the women's doubles of the Lexus Birmingham Open in Great Britain on Monday, June 2.

The unseeded pair succumbed to Australian second seeds Ellen Perez and Storm Hunter, 6-4, 6-4, in a match that lasted one hour and 11 minutes.

Teaming up for the first time, Eala and Masarova failed to capitalize on a strong start where they led 2-1.
