Rangasamy: The young attorney redefining legal practice

DHARINI Rangasamy, a 26-year-old attorney from the KwaZulu-Natal mid-South Coast, is making waves in the legal profession with her innovative approach and commitment to social justice.

Born and raised in a close-knit community, Rangasamy credits her family and friends for providing a strong support system that has been instrumental in her journey.

She attended Umzinto Secondary School, where she excelled as the Dux in 2016. Following this, she pursued her LLB at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, graduating cum laude in 2021. Her passion for law led her to complete her LLM in Medical Law at the same university, achieving summa cum laude in 2023.

Rangasamy’s master’s dissertation focused on surrogate motherhood in the international arena, showcasing her dedication to addressing complex legal issues.

In addition to her academic accomplishments, Rangasamy is a trained mediator and a member of the KZN Society of Mediators and the South African Medico-Legal Association.

After completing her articles at Singh & Gharbaharan in Scottburgh, Rangasamy took a bold step by opening her own law firm, Rangasamy Attorneys Inc, immediately after being admitted as an attorney.
