|July 20, 2025
THE 46th Durban International Film Festival is taking place in the city featuring 85 films from 39 countries and is screening at various venues until July 27.
The festival kicked off with the screening of the film, Lucky Fish, which delves into the amusing tale of a struggling businessman’s unexpected quest for publicity.
As Sanjay (played by Meren Reddy) navigates the pressures surrounding his pilchards canning factory and the looming threat of his loan, a chance encounter with aspiring beauty pageant contestants sparks an idea in him.
The film will be released in cinemas on July 25.

Litfest in the Land of the Kings
RAJASTHAN translates as the “land of the kings” and the crown jewel is unmistakably the architectural marvel of the “pink city” of Jaipur cloaked from drinking well to palace dome in the dusty terracotta hue decreed by Maharaja Ram Singh in 1876 to welcome the bum-in-butter Prince of Wales who was later to be crowned King Edward VI.
