Dykes aiming to be Bel of the ball

LYNDON DYKES has told the Tartan Army he's still the man to score big goals for Scotland.

- Scott McDermott

And the striker has vowed to bury any chance he gets against Belarus tomorrow night.

Dykes squandered a golden opportunity against Denmark in the Scots’ goalless World Cup qualifying opener on Friday.

Steve Clarke's side secured a vital point in Copenhagen to get their Group C campaign off to a positive start.

Dykes was given the nod up front alongside Che Adams but admits he missed a gilt-edged second-half chance.

But the 29-year-old - who hasn't scored for Scotland in 13 games, since an equaliser against Norway in Oslo two years ago - is adamant he WILL hit the goal trail for his country again.

Dykes, who has always been backed by Clarke, said: "The manager knows what I bring.

"As a player, I will put my heart on the line and will work as hard as anyone else on the pitch to try and get a win for the team.

"I have scored big goals for Scotland, especially in the last qualifying campaign.
