Promises to spread divisive views
CHARLIE Kirk's tearful wife has vowed to continue his work, telling his supporters: “The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.”
Erika, 36, prayed, quoted the Bible and spoke about his love for Donald Trump, JD Vance, the US and the couples two young children.
She vowed the Turning Point USA pro-Trump movement he co-founded would not only survive but expand.
And the former beauty queen blasted the “evildoers responsible” for the 31-year-old far-right firebrand’s murder.
“They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith and of God's merciful love,” she said.
“But they should all know this. If you thought that my husband's mission was powerful before, you have no idea what you just unleashed across this country.”
Evangelical Christian right-winger Kirk spoke out against gay marriage, trans people, abortion, and diversity programmes, argued for Christian nationalism, and was highly critical of Islam. He said that gun deaths were “worth it” for the right to own one.
Erika, once Miss Arizona, was speaking for the first time since the activist and influencer was shot dead at Utah Valley University.
She delivered her livestreamed broadcast from Turning Point's HQ in Arizona.
It began with several minutes of silence as the camera framed Kirk’ empty chair.
Her voice trembling, Erika said:
