Trinkets stolen from memorial are returned

FAMILY were heartbroken when precious ornaments were stolen from a teenager's memorial garden - but a powerful court statement that expressed their devastation has resulted in their return.

The garden was created outside the Smethwick home of 15-year-old Ruby, who had a pre-existing health condition and sadly died in March last year.

Her family filled the tribute area with items that had a special meaning to her, or she helped to create.

However in April, they were horrified to discover some ornaments had been stolen.

West Midlands Police was alerted to the theft and an investigation began in a bid to trace the sentimental items and find out who took them.
