Top uni a sanctuary for fleeing Malak, 20

A GAZAN evacuee has left the horrors of war for a place at a top university.

The Irish government helped Malak Alsweirki, 20, get out of Gaza with a day's notice. She is now doing a foundation course at Trinity College Dublin.

Her parents, who were reportedly shot by Israeli soldiers in 2023, and three younger siblings are living in a tent in the stricken strip without any food.
