KYLE STEYN hopes a nightmare for his country could help usher in one for rival clubs.

- GRAEME MACPHERSON

The winger sat out the Six Nations after suffering a knee injury at Glasgow just before it began.

The South African-born star had hoped to get back in time to boost Scotland's cause, only for rehab to take longer than expected.

Steyn finally made his comeback for Warriors on Friday night, scoring a try in a 28-25 win over Munster.

And the Scotstoun skipper hopes the lay-off will make him fresher for the URC title run-in. The 31-year-old said: “I was gutted not to be able to play for Scotland. To pick up an injury the week before the autumn games and then pick up another one the week before the Six Nations was a gut punch.
