Saving lives can happen with change

JORDAN Burns was a troubled young man who had been who was clearly a massive suicide risk when he arrived at Addiewell Prison.

Despite this, his devastated mum believes he had been denied mental health support and medication before being found dead of a drug overdose.

The 22-year-old had already been resuscitated twice after overdosing during his 10 months on remand over an assault charge.

He also threatened to throw himself from a balcony, set fire to his cell and had a clear history of self-harm.

However, despite all these warning signs Jordan appears to have been able to easily obtain and consume a killer dose of drugs on November 10, 2023.
