Mind the credibility gap when in Europe

IT was a week in Europe that called into serious question our country’s credibility.

The Premiership's reputation was damaged along with the standing of the four participants in three different UEFA tournaments.

A total of 12 goals conceded and no wins, with three teams downgraded to a lesser competition, adds up to an inability to look ourselves in the mirror.

Reaction ranged from mortifying embarrassment, in the case of the Old Firm, to no great degree of surprise that Hibs and Aberdeen were beaten on the continent.
